Memorial Day

Sandra had to work today, but I had the day off of work, so Corrina and I went to the local park while it was still nice outside. Tomorrow she starts at a new family care place. I hope (and think) it will be a better fit for her than the daycare she was in last week.

Corrina in America

We've been back for a little over a week now... we went out today for lunch and too some pictures outside.

And here's Corrina back home waking up from her nap.

We haven't been able to take or post many pictures since we've been back because, wow, Corrina takes up close to 100% of our time.. it's actually pretty amazing that Sandra's mom was able to do it largely by herself for the months that Corrina was in China. It didn't help that Corrina (as Sandra mentioned) hasn't taken to daycare at all and it took us a few days to get over the jetlag from China.

We're currently in the process of interviewing family care providers so we can get her out of daycare ASAP. Hopefully Corrina will take to a smaller environment where she can get more individual attention, but at the same time be able to interact with other kids.

First day in daycare

Today is the first day for corrina going to daycare. It was a tough day for all of us. When she first got to the daycare, she cried hard for 5 mins. Then she saw other kids playing around and joined them gradually. So i sneaked out when she did not notice. Two hours later, i came back at lunch time and saw her crying sitting besides the table. She refused the lunch, because when the teacher tried to approach her, she was just freaked out. Her face was messed up by her tears and running noise. Her hair was messy also. She really looked like a poor egg. As soon as she saw me, she just held me tightly, still crying and was afraid i was going to leave her. So i held her and tried to put her to sleep. However, she was very alert that i would go away and did not fall asleep at all. One and half hours passed, and she was still awake. I had to go back to work. So the teacher took over corrina and asked me to go. When i left the room, i could hear corrina was screaming in the quiet napping room.
So she skipped the lunch and nap in her first day of dar care. We will wait for another week to see if corrina is getting better and make other solutions accordingly. Hiring a nanny is not a good alternative, because when corrina was together with other kids , she was happy and forgot i was not there. Maybe we will let my mom come to US again, but it is not decided by us. Hopefully things will change for the next few days.
